Didka v2.5 introduces significant new capabilities and performance improvements. This release focuses on expanding recording coverage to modern web technologies and making session replay faster and more reliable.

Canvas Recording

Many modern websites use HTML5 Canvas for data visualization, interactive graphics, and games. Previously, these elements appeared as blank areas in session replays. With v2.5, didka captures Canvas content accurately, including animations, drawings, and interactive elements. This means you can now replay sessions from dashboards, charts, and creative applications without losing visual context.

WebGL Support

WebGL is used for 3D graphics, product configurators, and immersive web experiences. Full WebGL support in v2.5 means you can record and replay user interactions with 3D product viewers, architectural visualizations, and any application that renders through WebGL. The capture includes both the visual output and the user's interaction events.

Replay Engine Improvements

The replay engine has been completely refactored for better speed and accuracy. Key improvements include faster session loading (up to 3x faster for complex sessions), more accurate DOM mutation replay, and reduced memory usage during playback. Sessions that previously took several seconds to load now appear almost instantly.

Shadow DOM and Iframe Recording

v2.5 also adds complete recording support for Shadow DOM and cross-origin iframes. Web components that use Shadow DOM encapsulation are now fully captured, including their internal event handling and styling. Cross-origin iframes — commonly used for embedded payment forms, chat widgets, and third-party content — are recorded seamlessly even when hosted on different domains.

Performance Optimizations

The tracking script has been further optimized. The v2.5 tracker is 15% smaller than v2.4, uses less memory during recording, and has improved batching for network requests. These improvements mean even less impact on your site's performance while maintaining comprehensive recording capabilities.
